Attendance at school is compulsory for all children of school age and parents are required to ensure daily attendance of their child. A note explaining a child's absence must be sent to school within three days.
Early departure from school is also noted as a partial absence. If a child is to leave school early for any reason a note must be sent to the class teacher and the parent must get a permission slip from the office before collecting the child. No child is to leave school early unless accompanied by an adult with parental permission.
Home School Liaison Officers regularly check the attendance records and work with families, the school and the staff to improve student attendance.
Children should not be at school before 8.30am. Teacher supervision of children in the playground commences at 8.30am, thus the safety of children arriving prior to this time cannot be assured. For future notification of parents, an "early note" may be issued to each child arriving at school before 8.30am If your child requires supervision before this time, we suggest that you contact HOOSH.
It is essential that all children arrive at school between 8.30am and 8.55am each school day.
Morning assemblies, commencing at 8.55am each morning, represent the beginning of the school day. For our students to be informed about the day's proceedings, they should be at school by this time. Parents are asked to ensure the punctual arrival of their children so that they may start each school day fully informed of what to expect, and not being unnecessarily stressed by late arrival.
Children arriving late must report to the office to be signed in and collect a "Late Note".
