Her replacement will be announced at the beginning of term 4. We know that Lilli Pilli will be gaining a friendly front of school officer of high integrity and thank Kathy for all her work during the last few years.
Korean Day Celebrations
Yesterday we celebrated Korean Day for the first time at Homebush Public School! We combined two important national Korean days – the Moon Festival and also National Foundation Day. The day provided incredible performances and cultural experiences for all students. Some students also took the opportunity to have a delicious Korean style lunch. Thank you to Hae-Ryun Martin who has worked tirelessly with her team to ensure an incredible day. Thank you also to those parents who helped with displays and activities as well as providing lunch. A fantastic day!

What an amazing event! Our students certainly highlighted their creative skills. And parents displayed incredible generosity in raising approximately $3000 during the event. Many thanks to Katrina Duff and her organising committee for making this night a memorable one. Thank you also to Brian Lambert who led us amazingly in the auction parts of the evening.

Kid’s Witness News
The children who have participated in the KWN group have been invited to attend the red carpet gala at Parramatta Riverside Theatre. We will let you know if they win any prizes. Well Done KWN kids.
Lost Property
All unlabeled lost property which was not collected by the end of Term 3 has been donated to charity.
School Camp
What a wonderful time was had all students that attended camp this year. I would like to congratulate all students for doing their best and behaving appropriately at all times. Yarramundi has given the students some real life lessons in the Australian bush that they will remember for their future.
As expected there are some items that have been put in lost property at the school which can picked up before the holidays. Students really enjoyed the ‘Flying Squirrel’ and ‘Canoeing’ (Group 6 enjoyed throwing Mr Lambert in the river). Camp has been an experience the children will talk about for their lifetime, so if you have a child in year 5 or 6 next year start preparing now.
A big thanks to all the staff who gave up time with families to give this opportunity to the students of Homebush P.S.

SRC Netball Competition – 2009
The SRC netball competition came to a close last week with a selection of students (chosen as best on court for their intra-school matches) taking on the teachers VII. In one of the most challenging teams teachers have had to face the scores were tied by the first half. Luckily for the teachers, however, they were able to score a flurry of goals in the second half to come away with a convincing win.
Congratulations must go to Mrs Johnson, Mrs Pagliasso, Ms Keating, Ms Rojas, Mrs Rossi, Mrs Owen and Ms Burke. Mr Lambert has been given a warning for aggressive play and violating several of the rules.
Mr. Maher would like to thank the nine students who gave their all and made the teachers really earn their victory.
In the school competition 6J won in the end narrowly beating 5H. 4K won in the junior final.
Well done everyone!
