Mobile phones should not be brought to school.

Where there is a potential safety issue, such as working parents/carers, children can bring a mobile phone to school but it must be deposited in the office on arrival at school and collected at the end of the day. It is the child’s responsibility to collect the phone on dismissal.

If a parent/carer needs to contact the school the office is manned between 8:30am and 3:15pm. Urgent messages will be relayed to the child.

This policy was put in place in 2005 and has subsequently been supported by a general DET policy statement.
